Pathfinder not affected by log4shell gap

In the last few days we have received a large amount of inquiries regarding the security gap in the log4j library. The answer is simple, Pathfinder Client, Pathfinder Server and Pathfinder Mobile do not use Java.

The critical zero-day vulnerability called log4shell in the widespread Java logging library log4j endangers numerous servers and apps. It opens security gaps in many services and applications. The Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) rates the risk on the so-called CVSS scale with 10, the highest possible value.

None of the products in the Pathfinder Suite uses Java. Pathfinder is not affected by the security vulnerability.

A truly significant milestone. In October, tripunkt GmbH celebrated its 20th anniversary. An evening where the team proudly looked back on two successful decades, over champagne and a Motherboard cake. 20 years of tripunkt stands for over two million lines of own programmed code, more than 50 releases successfully deployed and hundreds of renowned and satisfied customers.

But this particular anniversary also stands for something more, something that cannot be expressed in numbers only. 20 years of tripunkt, above all, means 20 years full of creativity, commitment, consistency and humor.

The passion and enthusiasm of all the employees have made tripunkt what it is today. Great partnerships have helped us grow. Exciting projects have allowed us to learn.

What began more than 20 years ago as an idea of two graduates of the Hasso-Plattner-Institute in Potsdam, today supports hundreds of users in making Data Centers and ICT structures manageable. Pathfinder is an integral part of the corporate workplace and the industrial sectors and is successfully used by companies in all lines of business. As a team with twenty years of expertise, we not only develop software, together with our strong partners, we communicate strategies, solutions and provide impulses.

Working in times of Corona

The Corona pandemic made 2020 a very special year. Practically everyone is facing their own personal challenges and doing their best in these circumstances. In order to also do our part as a team, to protect society and contain the pandemic, we have taken on a complete home-office work culture.

Maybe the daily work routine at tripunkt looks a little different as a result, because the coffee breaks now take place virtually. But the way we work has not changed. We, at tripunkt, continue to do our best so that we can provide to our clients the service that they are accustomed to.
